Lord, another 100 + degree day in Austin and the hen's are resting in the shade of my red oak tree, near the compost bin. They burrow a spot in the cool dirt and just sit until the sun moves them to a fresh spot.A couple months back I found a great feed store on North Lamar, Buck Moore Feed and Supply, that sells organic layer crumble produced in Elgin. Nice to buy local and the girls love the stuff.
The eggs are coming more frequently now that they have adjusted to the heat. Had fresh egg migas this morning with Hatch Green Chile sauce--Yum!
